Turkey unveils new intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of up to 6,000 km
Turkey has publicly unveiled its new intercontinental ballistic missile, the "Yildirimhan", for the first time at the SAHA 2026 international defense industry exhibition in Istanbul.
This marks another step in the development of the country's long-range strategic strike capabilities. The missile was developed by the Turkish Ministry of Defense's Research and Development Center and, according to data presented at the exhibition, can reach speeds of up to Mach 25 (about 8.5 kilometers per second) and has a range of up to 6,000 kilometers.
Yildirimhan's discovery comes at a time when Ankara is accelerating investments in its domestic defense industry, with a particular focus on developing long-range missile systems, unmanned platforms and space technologies.
