He passed away at the age of 89, today a tribute to the former head of the Parliament, Servet Pëllumbi

Today, a funeral ceremony will be held in honor of the former Speaker of the Parliament, Servet Pëllumbi, who passed away the day before at the age of 89.
The casket will arrive at Skanderbeg Square at 09:00 and will then be placed in the lobby of the Opera and Ballet Theater.
Tributes in honor of the Dove will begin at 09:30 and official tributes will be held at 12:00.
Pëllumbi is one of the founders of the Socialist Party and former Speaker of the Parliament. He has been considered one of the most integrity-minded figures since the 1990s.
Servet Pëllumbi was born in Korça and after the 1990s, he ran for office in this constituency. The deceased completed his higher education at the University of Petersburg and received his doctorate in Literature.
From 1960 to 1963, he was a lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute in Korça and then practiced this profession until 1977. Since this year, the politician has been elected a member of the Steering Committee of the Labor Party, while for almost three years he has been a lecturer at the University of Tirana.
The democratic changes in 1990 positioned Servet Pëllumbi as vice-president of the Socialist Party, a position he held until 1996.
He led the Socialists' campaign to oppose the referendum on the Constitution and then the campaign for the release of Fatos Nano from prison.
He is known as one of the longest-serving members of the Albanian Parliament, with active participation in various parliamentary committees.
