Elisa Spiropali appeared alone at the tributes for the passing of the socialist professor, left-wing intellectual Servet Pëllumbi. On the other hand, the SP Parliamentary Group was all united and only Spiropali was missing among them.
Asked about this episode, the former Foreign Minister and former Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, said that she was alone because "I paid homage as the former Speaker of the Parliament. Everyone has a place here, regardless of their positions."
Elisa Spiropali avoided "accusations" against the Socialists in front of journalists, out of respect for the event she was attending, but it seems her expulsion from the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group has become a fact today.
As she stopped at Servet Pëllumbi, she said that he was "A wise man with a good energy, which was always conveyed in his public and private life."
This Wednesday, family, friends and political associates are saying their final farewell to one of the most important figures of the Albanian left, former Speaker of the Parliament, socialist professor, Servet Pëllumbi, who passed away the day before at the age of 89.
The tributes began with the arrival of the coffin and its placement in the lobby of the Opera and Ballet Theater, where receptions are taking place. Since the early hours of the morning, citizens, political representatives and public figures have paid homage, honoring the figure of Pëllumbi, who throughout his life contributed to the academic and political life of the country.
