"Trump disappointed with some NATO countries", Rutte: They were slow to offer support to the US on Iran

Asked for a summary of his conversations with Donald Trump, NATO chief Mark Rutte said: “As they would say in diplomatic circles, these conversations were frank and open… frank.”
“But that’s fine,” he said. “The President, I, we like each other, we’ve been good friends for many years now, and I would prefer the conversation to take place at the table.”
He continues: “I felt his disappointment in the fact that he felt that many allies were not with him.”
According to him, some NATO members were "a little slow" in providing support to the US in its war on Iran.
"To be honest, they were a little surprised too," he added.
Rutte said Trump kept the plans secret from allies to "preserve the element of surprise for initial strikes" on Iran, a move he understands.
“What I see when I look around Europe today is that allies are providing a tremendous amount of support… to ensure that the powerful American military succeeds in denying Iran a nuclear weapon,” he adds.
