The situation escalates / US-Iran exchange attacks again along the Strait of Hormuz

The conflict between the US and Iran remains active, with gunfire and explosions heard around the Strait of Hormuz this Friday.
This attack came after the US military attacked two ships bound for Iran while trying to break the US blockade.
CNN writes that over the past two hours, American and Iranian forces have been engaged in a limited exchange of fire.
"There are reports of a limited exchange of fire with US forces around the Strait of Hormuz. The sounds of gunfire have reportedly been heard in areas near the strait for approximately the past two hours," the Iranian Tasnim news agency said.
A few hours ago, the US stopped two Iranian-flagged tankers trying to bypass a US blockade, just as they were pulling into a port in the Gulf of Oman.
Tehran and Washington traded barrages across the crucial waterway late Thursday, as both sides accused each other of targeting non-aligned ships in the Persian Gulf. The escalation in violence came after efforts to reach a full ceasefire, with the White House insisting the ceasefire was still in place.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that Washington is preparing for an Iranian response to a proposal to end the war sparked by US-Israeli attacks on Tehran in late February.
