The war in Iran is over! Trump and Pezeshkian sign a peace agreement,

United States President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have signed an initial peace agreement aimed at ending the conflict between the two countries, with immediate effect.

The document envisages the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of all US sanctions on Iran and a reconstruction plan worth $300 billion. However, the issue of Iran's nuclear program, considered the main reason for the conflict by Washington, still remains to be negotiated during a 60-day period.

The agreement was signed by Donald Trump during the G7 summit in France, while Tehran confirmed that the document was also signed by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Trump defended the deal, saying it would avert an “economic catastrophe” and even a “global depression,” noting that financial markets reacted positively whenever the possibility of peace was discussed. He also warned that the United States would take strong military action against Iran if a final agreement on its nuclear program was not reached.

On the other hand, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament and the main negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that distrust towards the US remains high. He stressed that Iran is ready to return to the use of force if, in his opinion, the opposing side does not respect the agreement or does not “understand the language of logic.”

The conflict between the US, Israel and Iran had brought significant consequences to the global economy, including rising energy prices and tensions in international markets following restrictions on passage through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important corridors for the global transport of oil and liquefied natural gas.
