Over 370 Palestinians killed since Gaza ceasefire

Health authorities in Gaza have said that at least 376 Palestinians have been killed and over 980 wounded since October 10, the date when a ceasefire in the enclave came into effect. The announcement was made public by the Gaza Health Ministry on Monday, which warns that the humanitarian situation remains critical despite the cessation of direct fighting.

According to the same report, the total number of Palestinian casualties since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023 has exceeded 70,000, while over 171,000 people have been injured and have sought medical assistance.

In a parallel development, Al Arabiya television reported that Hamas and international mediators have agreed on the first steps towards disarming the group, which includes handing over heavy weapons and launching a political process for peace. According to the television's sources, Hamas has confirmed to the United States that it is ready to hand over control of the enclave as part of the new peace plan.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump is expected to announce the second phase of the peace plan for Gaza before December 25, which envisages the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the creation of an international stabilization force, and the establishment of new administrative structures in the enclave, including the so-called "Peace Boards."
