Albanian involved in a theft in Belgium sentenced to prison after being caught with a handgun

An Albanian man has been sentenced to 36 months in prison by a court in Belgium after being found guilty of participating in a violent robbery that took place in 2020 in the municipality of Grimbergen. His identification was made thanks to DNA traces found on a flashlight left at the scene.
The incident occurred on December 7, 2020, when a local resident heard the sound of glass breaking on the first floor of the house. After going down to see what was happening, he encountered one of the thieves in the bedroom and tried to stop him. At that moment, he was attacked from behind by a second person, knocking him to the ground. The two perpetrators escaped, leaving behind an electrician who would later discover them.
Investigations revealed that the electric car contained traces of the Albanian's DNA, who was initially sentenced in absentia in 2021 to 3 years in prison. After a few years, he was caught again in Belgium and filed an appeal against the decision, denying any connection to the incident.
" I have no idea how my DNA ended up on that torch, or how it ended up in that house. I have two children and a pregnant wife, who is going to pay the rent if I'm in prison? " he declared during the hearing.
