Chaos on German airlines, Lufthansa pilots and employees announce strike. Flights canceled

The UFO union called on cabin crew employees at Lufthansa and CityLine to go on strike again on Wednesday and Thursday, further escalating the protests in the context of negotiations for a new collective agreement.
The company's 48-hour pilot strike, which began at midnight, is already causing cancellations and delays to hundreds of flights.
"There is no better place for workers to protest" than the Lufthansa event planned for the day after tomorrow to mark the 100th anniversary of its founding, which will also be attended by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, said UFO president Joachim Vazquez-Burger, adding:
"When management celebrates Lufthansa's 100th anniversary together with the federal government, we will make it clear under what conditions employers operate - and on whose backs the current decisions are being made," he said.
Just last Friday, Lufthansa's flight attendants held another strike, resulting in flight cancellations or delays for thousands of passengers, something that is being repeated today with its pilots' strike.
