Former Montenegrin president mentioned in Epstein dossier, Djukanovic denies any connection

Former President and Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, is mentioned in files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, recently released by the United States Department of Justice.
According to the documents, Djukanovic's name appears in a series of messages that Epstein allegedly exchanged with Slovak politician Miroslav Lajcak. In one of these communications, Lajcak writes that the Montenegrin president is "looking forward to our visit."
In the continuation of the conversation, Epstein replies: "Maybe he should give Donald a safe haven", while Lajcak emphasizes that "Donald's weak point is Montenegro".
During these exchanges, Epstein also sent Lajcak a link from the New York Times, accompanied by a photo of Kotor, to which Lajcak replied: “I told you Montenegro was great.” Epstein also asked Lajcak whether Djukanovic was the president or prime minister at the time, to which the latter replied that he was the president.
According to sources, some of these messages were exchanged in August 2018, while others were exchanged on September 21 of that same year.
In his response, Milo Djukanovic denied any knowledge or communication with Jeffrey Epstein. He stated that he had never had direct or indirect contact with him.
"In response to the frequent interest of media representatives regarding the publication of communications of the late Jeffrey Epstein, I would like to clarify that I have never known Epstein and have never communicated with him, directly or indirectly. Consequently, I cannot attest to the authenticity of the published conversations or his possible visits to Montenegro," Djukanovic said.
The dossier released by US authorities includes an estimated 3 to 3.5 million pages of material, over 2,000 videos and around 180,000 images related to Epstein's activities. The Justice Department says some of the content has been redacted or withheld to protect the privacy of victims, with names and personal information partially or completely removed.
