He sold NATO data to Beijing/ The spying scandal in the Greek army, the colonel

New revelations are emerging in the complicated case of the Greek officer who confessed to spying for the Chinese, sending sensitive NATO information to Beijing.
Apparently, the second phone that had the encrypted software installed was the one that “burned” him.

According to Mega, during the interrogation he began to backtrack from his initial confession, but then EYP intervened and its people who were present at the interrogation bombarded him with questions. There they showed him the two mobile phones. It was at this point that the colonel realized that there was no room for maneuver and confessed to all contacts with the Chinese.

Now the authorities are identifying the network of Chinese agents, where according to information, a Chinese woman is at the head. This is a woman who is not connected to the military and has a very high role in the espionage pyramid.

The main issue of national security
Greek authorities are treating the espionage case involving the 54-year-old colonel as a matter of great national importance.

The Ministry of Defense has essentially imposed an informal “omerta” for national security reasons. No one is saying anything because this could have complications in relations with NATO allies and in Sino-Greek relations.

It is not known at this time whether there has been any kind of reaction from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Chinese embassy or something similar from the Greek embassy in Beijing to the central administration.

The 54-year-old is believed to have been recruited by Chinese intelligence during a conference abroad. Either by another Chinese agent or by a Chinese person who identified the colonel through his information that was in a shared download, possibly via LinkedIn.
