"Natural" death certificate after tragic accident, family members accuse justice of covering up the event

A serious case, with fatal consequences and many questionable consequences regarding the actions of the judiciary and health institutions, was reported on the investigative show Fiks Fare by a citizen of Durrës.
His mother lost her life as a result of a road accident, while the suspected perpetrator of the incident has been released.
What makes this case even more shocking is the fact that on the official death certificate, the cause is listed as "natural death," despite the fact that the victim had spent 20 days in intensive care after the accident.
According to the complaint, on December 27, the elderly woman was in an accident in her neighborhood while crossing the street. A vehicle hit her and, according to footage obtained by Fiks Fare, the driver of the vehicle reversed the car, leaving the woman underneath it.
Bystanders were forced to lift the vehicle with their hands to extract the elderly woman, who was rushed to the hospital. She remained in intensive care for 20 days, in serious condition, until she passed away.
The family members express shock at the fact that the suspected perpetrator, a 24-year-old man, has been released. They state that they do not know him and that they have not received full information from the institutions, except for a court decision that only imposed the measure of "obligation to appear" and a ban on leaving the country.
According to the family, the Durrës Prosecution had requested the measure of arrest, but the court decided on a lighter measure. What stands out most in the court decision, obtained by Fiks Fare, is the statement of the representative of the prosecution, who during the hearing claimed that the accident victim "was out of danger to her life", while she was in resuscitation until the moment of death.
Fiks Fare journalists contacted the Durrës Prosecutor's Office to obtain information regarding the prosecutor's request to the court, as well as to learn whether an alcohol test had been conducted on the driver of the vehicle and what the results were. Although the legal deadlines for a response have passed, the prosecutor in the case, Sokol Nishani, has not responded.
Meanwhile, the family members have secured the death certificate, where the cause of death is not related to the road accident, but is recorded as "natural death." This fact has increased the suspicions and revolt of the family, which is demanding a full investigation into the incident.
The journalists also contacted the doctor whose stamp is on the death certificate. He admitted the mistake, describing it as a "slip of the tongue." "I am ashamed of what happened. I did not defend the author and I do not even know him. In the description below I wrote 'trauma'. It was a momentary mistake," the doctor said.
The victim's family declares that they will not stop until the case is fully resolved. The deceased's daughter is determined: "If the state does not give the perpetrator the deserved punishment, we will not forgive the death of our mother." /Top Channel/
