Albanians do not escape world curiosity/ Interest in oil, Iran and Trump's

Internet searches, or as they are otherwise known, Google searches, are an important indicator for understanding which topics are in focus and what information people are most curious about. But what have been the events or topics that Albanians have searched for the most in terms of world developments?

According to Google Trends data, in addition to interest in Albanian television programs and characters, users in Albania have also shown great curiosity about international developments. Situations across borders have received particular attention, especially developments related to the war in the Middle East.

According to data from Google Trends, over the past month, one of the topics that has attracted the most attention of users in Albania has been the price of oil. Interest in this topic has increased significantly, indicating that a good part of citizens have been carefully following international developments and the impact they may have on the fuel market. Searches for this term gradually increased at the end of March, especially around March 26, while the peak of interest was recorded on April 8, when the Google search index reached the maximum level of 100.

Another term that has dominated searches is Iran, which turns out to be among the most searched words during this period. The data shows some notable peaks of interest on March 12 and 15, while searches have remained relatively high throughout April.

There has also been considerable interest in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most strategically important points for the transport of oil in the world. Searches for this strait have been particularly high during the first days of April, reflecting public concern about the impact that tensions in the region could have on global energy markets.

At the same time, Albanian users have also sought information on military developments, including missiles and weapons used in the conflict, with a noticeable increase in interest in the first days of the escalation of tensions. In parallel, a “boom” of searches has also been recorded for US President Donald Trump, especially after his recent public statement that has prompted numerous reactions and discussions in the media and social networks.

Meanwhile, developments related to Israel have also generated high interest in the search engine, with a noticeable increase in searches around March 22 and at times when tensions with Iran have intensified./ SCAN
