A 54-year-old man has been arrested by police in Kurbin, after being wanted by Italian authorities for drug trafficking.

He was sentenced to over 7 years in prison for drug trafficking and intimidation. Procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy are ongoing.

The Special Operations Force Directorate is finalizing the 95th phase of the operation codenamed "Operationalja".

Sentenced in Italy to over 7 years in prison for drug trafficking and intimidation, the 54-year-old was captured in Kurbin and arrested for extradition purposes.

As a result of the information provided on the location of a citizen declared internationally wanted, the operation codenamed "Operation 95" was immediately organized and finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.

During the operation, DFPO services arrested citizen Gjin Nikollaj, 54 years old, resident of Laç, in Kurbin.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Italian judicial authorities sentenced him to 7 years and 2 months in prison for the criminal offenses of "Drug Trafficking" and "Threat".

Procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy are ongoing.
