Protests and the crackdown on the Rama-Berisha system

Albanian democracy is 36 years old. The same is the number of years in power of the Albanian political class. Many of those who are protesting today against Edi Rama and Sali Berisha were not born or were children between 1 and 10 years old. Both of them have spoken out openly against the protest today, because for the first time, the protesters united together in the call
"Rama in prison, Berisha in prison"
And best of all, one has been Prime Minister of Albania for 13 years, while the other has been President, Prime Minister and Permanent Chairman of the Democratic Party - in opposition for 13 years. Ilir Meta is missing, imprisoned for corruption by SPAK - awaiting trial.
As I write this, Prime Minister Edi Rama of Montenegro is declaring (when asked by a foreign journalist) that "the protests are being instigated by Albania's enemies." Albania's enemies may try to exploit this protest, but why shouldn't we, Albanians, try to exploit this extraordinary energy against Edi Rama and Sali Berisha?
Why should we allow "Iranians, Russians, and Chinese" to exploit the energy of our youth, and not use this energy for ourselves, our country, and our future?
Now imagine how much energy has gathered in the squares of Albania. Critics may say that "the Zvërnec project is an investment of great interest for Albania."
I think the same: such a project has extraordinary value and potential for the future. But the project must be transparent. Until now, we have only heard informal information and Edi Rama's angry and insulting outbursts. In fact, this is a communication style that Rama has been practicing for decades with Albanians - and successfully. But it seems that this time this communication style is being rejected.
What has happened this time with citizens protesting is something unusual, something that happens very rarely, but when it does happen, it is difficult to predict the course it will take.
But one thing seems certain:
The protest is an expression of the anger gathered for 36 years against the Albanian political class, which has eliminated any possibility for Albanians to be heard and to make decisions about their lives and future. Arrogance, corruption, clientelism, nepotism and connections with crime have been and remain at the foundation of the governance of Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. In recent years, they seem to have agreed not to exchange seats anymore, but to consolidate power - one in the opposition and the other in the government. Even the constitutional changes of 2008 that enable them to have this unlimited power bring them together. They decide on everything; within their parties and outside their parties, eliminating any possibility for any new alternative to arise; be it social, economic or political. Albanians who do not line up behind them are left with only one alternative:
To leave Albania. And leaving Albania is scary.
But what I wrote above is just one of the views.
The other view is that the protest can be manipulated, and this time the manipulators have come together, because they brought the protesters together. And they are masters of manipulation; the proof is that they have both worked together for decades for this system.
Therefore, the protest must attack the very political system that keeps Rama and Berisha afloat. Therefore, it does not matter that the protesters have the same political views; because it is impossible. What is important is that they break the political system that Sali Berisha and Edi Rama have built.
But how does this political system break down?
Only with clear political demands that lead to profound constitutional changes, removing the monopoly of the closed two-party system they have created. The details remain to be explored, but only this would dismantle the political and legal monopoly that these two Siamese brothers have created for their personal political and economic interests.
The time has come for politics to be truly represented for what it is;
Liberals should be real liberals, conservatives should be real conservatives, leftists should be leftists. Even extremists should have their own parties, because they are also needed to understand what our society should never be.
But first, the Rama-Berisha political system must be broken. And this is the chance.
