Eva Buzo's message about environmental conservation, swimming from Sazani

Zvërnec and the Narta Lagoon have become the epicenter of public debate on development and environmental protection.
For days, citizens, activists, and environmental organizations have been opposing the planned project in this area, considering it a threat to one of the country's most important ecosystems.

According to them, the Narta Lagoon and the Sazan Island represent a national asset of particular importance for biodiversity and migratory birds of the Mediterranean.

In support of this cause, an awareness-raising activity has been organized this Saturday, June 6, that will bring together activists, athletes, and citizens.

At its center is the renowned swimmer Eva Buzo, who will perform a symbolic swim from Sazani to Narta, with the aim of drawing attention to the importance of protecting the ecosystem.

Eva Buzo's name became known to the Albanian public after the historic challenge of 2024, when she successfully crossed the Otranto Channel, from Italy to the Albanian coast.

The organizers of the initiative say that this activity is not political in nature, but aims to convey a clear message about the preservation of natural resources and the involvement of citizens in decision-making that affects the environment.

As the debate over the future of Zvërnec continues, the issue has transcended the boundaries of a single project, transforming into a broader discussion on the balance between economic development, nature protection, and citizens' trust in institutions.
