"Ben Qimja" will remain wanted, the Appeals Court refuses to lift the arrest. He threatened Judge Cjapi with his life, a weapon was seized in his apartment

The Tirana Court of Appeal has decided not to accept the appeal of Arben Isufaj, who is known in Fier as "Ben Qimja", thus continuing the search for the man considered the strongman of Fier.
Since February 2025, the Fier court has ordered the measure of "prison arrest" against Arben Isufaj, because the prosecution had launched an investigation against him for "Threat to a judge" and "Unauthorized possession of firearms."
This decision was not able to be executed by the police, but due to the escape through his lawyers, Arben Isufaj has appealed the First Instance decision to the Appeals Court.
A few days ago, the Court of Appeals reviewed the case in question, deciding to dismiss the appeal filed by Arben Isufaj and to continue the measure of "prison arrest" for the "strongman" of Fier.
The criminal investigation against Arben Isufaj began after a complaint from a notary, who had told him that he would kill the son of the judge and then the judge of Fier, Vladimir Cjapi.
Cjapi and Isufaj were previously friends, as Cjapi worked as a lawyer and legally defended Arben Isufaj's family members in several trials.
On this basis, the prosecution ordered a search of Arben Isufaj's apartment. Judge Cjapi has meanwhile been taken under protection by the State Police, along with the notary who filed the complaint.
Sources confirm that Vladimir Cjapi is reviewing a file on 3 people, including Pëllumb Yzeiraj, who is suspected of having killed Julian Isufaj, Arben Isufaj's uncle, in 1997.
The latter was previously wanted by the police as a suspect in the murder of Demir Backa. However, he was not charged with murder.
While years ago he was brought to justice, even though he was wanted by Italian justice for serious crimes, such as drug trafficking and the murder of Pirro Koçiu in Tirana.
