The Gjirokastra Court has imposed the security measure "house arrest" for Ermal Koko, the owner of the "GLOW" swimming pool.
and the husband of the Deputy Mayor of Gjirokastra Municipality, Artiste Koko, in connection with the tragic event in which 15-year-old Arbër Peçi lost his life.
Koko was arrested a few days ago by order of the Prosecutor's Office, and he is charged with "violating occupational safety regulations", as part of the ongoing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The court session took place at the Gjirokastra Court and was presided over by Judge Ervin Kore. During the review of the request for the security measure, the prosecutor of the case, Nettila Miftaraj, presented the arguments and evidence collected up to this stage of the investigation, focusing on the serious incident that occurred in the swimming pool premises where 15-year-old Arbër Peçi lost his life.
On the other hand, Ermal Koko's legal defense, represented by lawyer Ben Pasho, requested the assignment of a lighter security measure, arguing that his client does not pose a risk to the investigation.
After hearing the parties, the court decided to partially accept the defense request, imposing the security measure "house arrest" on Ermal Koko.
The event that shocked public opinion occurred four days ago when 15-year-old Arbër Peçi lost his life moments after he entered the water. According to preliminary data, it is suspected that the minor may have died as a result of cardiac arrest, however, the exact cause of death is expected to be determined by forensic expertise.
Investigations into this event continue, while competent authorities are working to fully clarify the responsibilities and circumstances that led to the loss of the 15-year-old's life.
