Marseille's transfer window is about to heat up. In order to balance their finances, the club knows they will need to make a big sale this summer.

Much-coveted by Fenerbahçe in Turkey, the English striker quickly dashed the hopes of the Turkish club; he refused to play in the dangerous preliminary rounds, demanding the security of playing in the Champions League. Roma offers 40 million, not enough for Marseille
Once the appointment of new sporting director Tony D'Amico is made official, Roma will unveil an offer of €40m plus bonuses, along with an annual salary of €4.5m that has already been offered to the player, the newspaper adds.
Is the deal done? Not quite. While the Italian offer is huge, Marseille have no intention of giving up their prized asset so easily and are firmly demanding €50m plus bonuses to release their player.
Negotiations continue to move forward behind the scenes. Fortunately, the excellent relationship between the two clubs, facilitated by the presence of Federico Balzaretti at Marseille, could speed up the talks. Roma have indicated that they are ready for the transfer, but OM are looking to increase the price.
