Milano-Cortina 2026/ Denni Xhepa finishes the giant slalom competition in 34th place

Denni Xhepa closed his competition in the giant slalom discipline in Alpine Skiing at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games. The Albanian skier ranked 34th in this discipline, where a total of 81 skiers participated.
The 22-year-old red and black athlete, who is participating for the second time in a competition like the Winter Olympics, crossed the track in a time of 2 minutes 35 seconds and 91 hundredths.
In the first descent, Denni Xhepa, due to errors in parts of the track, recorded a time of 1 minute 20 seconds and 57 hundredths, ranking 36th. In the second descent, the Albanian skier made a better performance, recording a time of 1 minute 15 seconds and 34 hundredths to reach a total time of 2:35:91.
Regarding the final result of this race, Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen surprised by giving Brazil its first gold medal by winning the giant slalom with a time of 2 minutes and 25 seconds, leaving behind the main favorite, Marco Odermatt, who was forced to settle for the silver medal with 58 hundredths more, while the bronze medal was won by Loic Meillard.
Denni Xhepa will return to compete on February 16 in the Slalom discipline, while Sunday will be the day of the red and black girls who will compete in the Giant Slalom where the greatest attention will undoubtedly be on Lara Colturi, who is in the top ten in the world in the overall ranking.
