Barcelona and the renewal, De Jong speaks: Here's the truth!

During his interview with Dutch portal Voetbal International, Netherlands and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong spoke about the season that has just ended and his contract with the Blaugrana, which expires in June 2026.

"Renewal? The club and I want it, when it happens we usually reach an agreement. I hope it comes soon."

For the season that just ended, I don't think it was my best year. People like to exaggerate it. Of course, I was out for a long time with an ankle injury, but I played well before that.

"The big difference is that now we have a better team and it shows. Personally, I think I was in my best form the season before my injury. When you win all the titles in Spain and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, it just stands out more."
