Confession in a wedding dress, Alex Soros' wife for Vogue: When he proposed to me, it was a time that didn't make sense

Alex Soros and Huma Abedin celebrated their singlehood this weekend with a lavish party in the Hamptons, attended by former presidents and other prominent Democratic figures. Foreign media write that the 49-year-old bride looked radiant in an elegant white dress with exposed shoulders and buttons down the back. 

Before the big day, while rehearsing for her wedding dress, Abedin spoke to Vogue. She expressed her happiness about the wedding and also talked about the engagement proposal she received last year from Alex Soros.

"I'm really happy, I'm just in a daze most days," Abedin says of her mood before her marriage to investor and Open Society Foundations chairman Alex Soros.

“We got engaged on June 4, 2024, downstairs by the dining room table. I was shocked, not by the fact that he proposed, but the timing didn’t make sense. It was a very chaotic day, very busy, and I was leaving for a trip the next day. I went to get my hair done in the morning [and] something fell on my foot, so I was wearing sneakers. You know those days when everything is falling apart? And then he just proposed ,” Abedin said.

Abedin said yes to Soros and received a stunning emerald-cut diamond ring. A few weeks later, the couple made their intention to marry official on Instagram with a post on the social network, shared while on vacation in Italy.
