"Albanian society accepts corruption"/ Berisha: Marta Kos's statements are racist and corrupt

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted to the statements of the Commissioner for Enlargement in the European Union, Marta Kos, who stated that Albanian society shows a level of acceptance towards corruption.

During a media conference, Berisha described the European official's statement as "racist and corrupt", linking it to political developments in Slovenia.

"Commissioner Marta's statement, one day after the first party won the elections in Slovenia and which she did not speak out until yesterday, is a truly racist and corrupt statement.
Whether we are dealing with political corruption or monetary corruption, this is a matter for the EU's investigative institutions.
But to accuse a society of accepting corruption, at a time when it supports the thief with all the weight that the Commission has, to say the least, is to be seen as his accomplice," he said.
