Prime Minister Edi Rama this Saturday held a meeting with residents affected by the implementation of the TID project in the city of Durrës.
Although the meeting was held without the presence of the media, it seems that clashes were not avoided at this meeting, and it is reported that there were also moments of tension between the parties.
It is reported that during his speech, Prime Minister Rama admitted that the estimated value for property compensation is not at the appropriate level.
The Prime Minister emphasized that he had gone to discuss the issue of compensation and not to reopen the debate on the project itself, describing the price offered as unfair to the residents.
" I didn't come here to discuss the project at all. I came to discuss that the value that they have given you is unfair ," Rama is reported to have said.
Rama has been firm in his stance, stressing that this project will be implemented at all costs. Meanwhile, he has asked residents not to "make friends with communists," otherwise he would leave the meeting.
" If you start a confrontation with the communists, you will be with your own, your own state. You will be lost because I have seen a lot myself. I came here so that you do not get lost. If you do not listen to what I say, then you will be confused by your own words ," he is reported to have said.
Again, he admitted that the value for housing compensation is low, but it will be increased with the new evaluation of references.
" I said that the value they have determined is not fair. Now she stands up and tells me again. I said it myself from the beginning and that's why I came. I didn't come here to discuss the project at all. I came to discuss that the value they have given you is unfair, " Rama declared.
We recall that earlier, Prime Minister Rama said that all claims of residents affected by the investment will be verified. He also emphasized that they have discussed the issue of price with the residents and that they will have to see the new references.
