Monika Kryemadhi: You can't get the mandate of an MP without spending 300 thousand euros, forget it
Former LSI leader Monika Kryemadhi, during an interview on Top Channel, openly revealed the behind-the-scenes events that occur in politics, especially when candidates for MPs are selected.
Kryemadhi stated that, to be elected as a member of parliament, one must have significant financial resources. According to her, a minimum of 300,000 euros is needed to be part of the lists that lead to the Assembly.
The reason, according to the former LSI leader, is related to the costs involved in the campaign, starting from fuel, coffee, office rent, banners, posters and rallies.
"What will electoral reform produce? If we produce a system where the MPs that the party leader wants are appointed and not those that the party wants, this is another problem, because it cannot include young people in politics in the face of the big "beasts" of politics, which are consolidated and also have financial resources."
For example, when I was told I wanted to run for MP, I responded: I'm running for you as MP?
To run for MP, you need a minimum of 300 thousand euros. Just for fuel, coffee, office rent, banners, posters and rallies, there is no mandate as an MP without 300 thousand euros. Forget it.
"Meanwhile, I said that with 300 thousand euros I would dig a hole in a palace and increase the investment tenfold," she said.
