Agreement with Ficantieri, Rama: The first two ships are produced for our Naval

Prime Minister Edi Rama was present today at the signing of the agreement between the Ficantieri company, one of the largest companies of excellence in Europe, and the KAYO company, to produce in Albania at the Pashalimani shipyard sailing ships for the benefit of the Albanian army, but also of allied countries.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that initially the first two ships will be produced for the Albanian Naval Forces, bringing the total number of our fleet to seven.

He stressed that production will continue in order to export the ships to allied countries. Rama considered the agreement important for Albania's industrial economy and the young people who will be recruited.

"There is an agreement with Ficantieri to create a new company Ficantieri Albania, together with KAYO to produce in Albania, at the Pashalimani shipyard, sailing ships for the benefit of the Albanian army, but also for other armies of allied countries. An Italian-Albanian excellence will be created. This agreement is very good news for the girls and boys of the Vlora industrial school, who will be the first to be invited to participate in a training journey to be participants in this new company of excellence tomorrow, in their city. This agreement paves the way for a new discussion of an economic nature for both Ficantieri and KAYO. We will benefit from the first two ships that will be built for our Naval Forces and will bring the number of ships in our fleet to 7. It is an optimal number in terms of the weight and responsibility of Albania in the Mediterranean. Production will continue further to export these ships, where the new technology and innovation that "will accompany this journey, it will be implemented ," said Rama.

He added that " we must adapt to have a dignified defense, to be at the height of a small but proud country in the trans-Atlantic alliance of which we are a part ."
