International statements on "Balluk"/ "SPAK free to investigate

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at a press conference, focused on the Belinda Balluku issue, emphasizing that the statements made by some representatives have been very clear, but the way they have been read is different.

The Prime Minister also underlined that 'the European dream is not over', and that according to him, the goal was to distort Albania's success.

"There is no doubt that in this case we are not facing a corruption case. Because SPAK itself has not filed any charges of corruption. We are facing a case under investigation, which can be investigated freely without any obstacles. I repeat what I said before the parliamentary group, I encourage the prosecution to follow and investigate all the leads where it is thought that the 'thorn of corruption' may appear along the way. So far we are not facing a corruption case. It is true that we have had a debate with some of our partners regarding the approach to this issue, it is no secret. As you know, the majority knows, the minority pretends to know. In this position, I represent Albania and the interest of Albanians. One of the indisputable norms of this representation is to look my partners in the eye and for them to look me in the eye, on the same level. I would not even consider looking down on anyone or allowing anyone to look down on me. Beyond the caricatures that have been built in the media bazaar, our discussions have "We have been open, not with tensions and pressures, or threats. These are things that do not happen at the levels where these discussions are held. I believe that even the statements made yesterday by some representatives, such as the EU representative, are clear. But it depends on how you read them," he said.
