Balluku, Niko Peleshi expected to convene the Mandates Council after the Constitutional Court's decision

The Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, is expected to publish on Monday the order calling a meeting of the Council on Rules of Procedure, Mandates and Immunity.
According to BW, the order will determine the date and time of the meeting, where issues related to the competences of this parliamentary body are expected to be discussed.
The Council members are meeting a week after the Constitutional Court of Albania rejected the government's request to suspend the measure of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), which dismissed Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku from public office.
It remains to be seen whether the Mandates Council, led by Peleshi, will consider the request of the Special Prosecution Office for Balluk.
