Zelensky responds to US request: We are ready to hold presidential elections in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that he is ready to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, responding to a request sent by the United States of America, reports Kyiv Post.
"The United States of America sent a request to hold presidential elections, and I told them that I would be ready for such elections," Zelensky told reporters on Thursday morning.
He added that no parliamentary or local elections are being considered at the moment.
Commenting on voting opportunities for Ukrainians abroad, Zelensky said he has long supported the introduction of remote or electronic voting.
"I have always supported and since the beginning of Covid I have raised the issue of legislative changes so that people can vote online, but so far we have not managed to reach a consensus with MPs," he said.
According to Zelensky, so far there has been no progress in parliament when it comes to changes to Ukraine's electoral legislation.
"As far as I know, there is nothing like that yet, but I have given them all the signals," Zelensky said, responding to the question of whether deputies are working on changes to the electoral law.
