NYT: Iran informed Qatar before attack, similar strategy to 2020

Iran coordinated attacks on US bases with Qatar to minimize casualties, the New York Times reports, citing three Iranian officials.

According to sources, Iran needed to symbolically counterattack the United States, but at the same time do so without causing further escalation.
