Thousands killed in violent demonstrations in Tehran / Around 200,000 people

Germany has been gripped by massive protests throughout the day. Around 200,000 people have protested in Munich against the Iranian authorities. The demonstrations were peaceful, with citizens demanding the fall of the Islamic Republic, following a wave of violent protests that began in late December.

According to human rights organizations in Iran, thousands of protesters have been killed there.

Last week, around 10,000 people gathered in Berlin, according to German police, responding to a call from the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the political wing of the exiled opposition group the People's Mujahedeen of Iran, which Tehran considers a "terrorist" organization.

Meanwhile, today the exiled son of the deposed Shah, Reza Pahlavi, called on Donald Trump to "help" the Iranian people, declaring that "the time has come to end the Islamic Republic."
