35 arrested in Iran for illegal filming and spreading fake news

Iranian authorities have arrested 35 people in the western province of Lorestan on charges related to illegally filming sensitive objects and military installations, collaborating with “hostile” media outlets and spreading false information, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported.

According to the report, 16 of those detained are accused of illegally filming videos in sensitive areas and military facilities, as well as collaborating with media outlets that authorities consider "hostile."

Meanwhile, 19 other people have been arrested on charges of spreading fake news. The arrests, according to the same source, are part of measures taken by the authorities to combat activities considered harmful to national security and public order.

The Tasnim Agency, citing official sources, emphasizes that the charges relate to both the alleged recording of sensitive locations and the publication of information that is considered inaccurate.
