Attacks on Iran, Trump holds phone conversation with Netanyahu and leaders of Bahrain and United Arab Emirates

President Donald Trump held phone calls with leaders in the Middle East on Sunday, the White House press secretary said, a day after the United States announced it was launching "major combat operations" in Iran.

"Today, President Trump spoke with the leaders of Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates," wrote Caroline Leavitt on X.

In the same statement, the press secretary said the president has been briefed on a deadly shooting in Austin's entertainment district. The FBI is investigating a "possible terrorism connection" to the mass shooting in Texas that left at least three people dead, including the suspected gunman, and 14 others injured.

Trump has been staying at his Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida, since Friday, but will return to the White House.
