Cypriot sources: Lebanon's Hezbollah launched drones that targeted British bases on the island

The drones that struck the British base in Cyprus today were launched from Lebanon and are suspected to have been operated by Hezbollah forces, Cypriot sources say.

According to information published by the Cyprus News Agency, the two unmanned aerial vehicles that caused minor damage to the British base of RAF Akrotiri were launched from Lebanese territory. According to the same sources, the reason why they were not identified and neutralized in time is related to their small size and low flight altitude.

Senior government sources in Cyprus emphasize that there is no information about a direct target for the infrastructure of the Republic of Cyprus, the protection of which remains the government's top priority.

For preventive reasons, Nicosia is in coordination not only with Greece, but also with other countries, the names of which will be made public once the relevant agreements are finalized.

Also, official Cypriot sources explained that there are no American aircraft in Cyprus and they are not expected to be deployed.
