Blockade against Iran, Donald Trump calls for preparations for long-term scenario

Donald Trump's administration is preparing for a prolonged blockade on Iran.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, Trump has asked his aides to plan a long-term strategy for increasing pressure on Tehran.

In recent meetings, he has emphasized that the blockade of Iranian ports is the preferred option, at a time when peace talks have stalled and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains tense.

Sources indicate that Trump considers other alternatives, such as resuming bombing or withdrawing from the conflict, more dangerous than continuing the blockade.

Meanwhile, the US military has taken concrete measures on the ground. Since April 13, ships have been blocked from entering and leaving Iranian ports, after direct contacts with the country's leadership failed.
