A large-scale fire engulfed a supermarket in the Kryebushati area, in the Vau-Dejës Municipality, overnight, causing significant material damage.
The flames broke out at around 01:00 after midnight and spread rapidly throughout the supermarket. Due to the intensity of the fire, several fire engines from Shkodra, Vau-Dejës and Lezha intervened at the scene, working for several hours to bring the situation under control and prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings.
As a result of the fire, the supermarket was almost completely destroyed, while the material damage is reported to be extensive. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as the building was closed at the time of the fire.
The causes of the fire still remain unclear and experts are expected to conduct the necessary verifications to clarify the circumstances of the event.
"Around the early hours of the morning, in a place called Kryebushat, it is suspected that due to an electrical spark, a fire broke out and a "supermarket" commercial entity was completely burned down. No citizens were injured in the fire.
"The investigation team is working to document the cause of the fire," the police inform.
