The Spanish National Police has arrested a 43-year-old man of Albanian origin at the Manise airport, who was wanted by the Belgian authorities for providing information on the commission of a murder. And he has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Belgium.
The arrest took place around 20:30 on Thursday when agents assigned to the border post at Manises airport learned of the arrival on a flight from Albania of a man who had a valid European Arrest and Surrender Warrant (OEDE). issued by the Belgian authorities, for providing information about the commission of a murder.
A device was immediately deployed to locate and detain him, as he could be attempting to enter Spain with false documentation. Agents found the man as he was preparing to go through passport control. After taking measures for his full identification, he was arrested as a suspected perpetrator of the crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, murder and assault with serious injuries.
In January 2022, the now arrested member of a dangerous armed criminal organization gave his killers information about a man. According to the proven facts, their cooperation allowed this victim to be shot when he was about to enter his home in Belgium. For this reason, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Belgian country.
