Accident on the Korça-Bilisht axis, car hits pedestrian, 62-year-old dies

An accident resulting in the death of a 62-year-old man was recorded this afternoon on the Korça-Bilisht road. According to preliminary information, a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the village of Tren, in the Devoll Municipality.
The injured man was immediately transported to the hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately he could not survive the injuries he sustained.
Police services have arrived at the scene, carrying out procedural actions and working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
Specialists from the Road Traffic Sector arrested citizen FP, 47 years old, resident of the village of Sul, Devoll, in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of "Violation of road traffic rules", resulting in death.
Today at around 11:45, on the "Korçë-Bilisht" road axis, near the intersection of the village of Tren, the vehicle driven by citizen FP, hit citizen L. Sh., about 62 years old, who had just gotten out of another vehicle.
As a result of the accident, the 62-year-old man suffered bodily injuries and later died at the Korça hospital.
The procedural materials will be referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
