Acerbi against Spalletti: Since there is a lack of respect, then I prefer to retire from the national team

Francesco Acerbi has given his version of events following Luciano Spalletti's statements at the press conference, where the latter indicated that the defender had rejected the invitation to the national team. Below is the Inter player's post on Instagram:
"After deep reflection, I communicated to the coach today that I do not accept the invitation to the national team. It is not a decision made lightly, because wearing the blue jersey has always been an honor and pride for me.
However, considering recent events, today there are no conditions for me to continue this journey calmly. I do not ask for excuses or favors, but I demand respect. And if this respect is lacking from the one who should lead a group, then I prefer to withdraw.
I'm not one of those who cling to an invitation with all my heart. I've always given everything, but I won't stay where they don't really want me anymore, it's clear that I'm not part of the coach's project. This is my decision and, as I told the coach this morning, it's not final.
"It doesn't come from anger or any 'depression' over a lost Champions League final, but simply from the need to take a step back. I wish the best to the national team and my teammates. I will continue to support them with the same dedication that I have always shown on the pitch."
