Ylli Manjani: The DP is clinically dead, a recount cannot bring it back to life! Berisha has only a few hours left in the narco-state, he is putting a stamp on us in Europe

"The DP is clinically dead, a recount cannot bring it back to life," said lawyer Ylli Manjani as he commented on the recount of votes for the May 11 elections in several districts.
Invited today to the 'Studio Live' show on Report TV with journalist Arbër Hitaj, he said that the recount cannot change anything in the election results.
'The PD is in clinical death, a recount cannot bring it back to life. A recount process is being discussed here, to do some re-verification of the way the votes were counted, whether there were any errors or not. This also eliminates any kind of dilemma that the votes were counted correctly or incorrectly. I do not believe that there is a deviation in the count because the PS and the PD are officially responsible because they had counters, if they have made a mess, it means that they have made it themselves. The PD have lost their compass with the statements they made ,' he said.
According to Manjani, the DP is no longer an alternative in the elections.
'I do not believe that the DP can enter into a process of change in the conditions in which it finds itself. The DP does not identify today with any social group in a place where it can find itself. There is no social group that is identified with this party that can protect their interests. I do not think that they are any more alternative. The last time they won elections was in 2011 when they won the Tirana municipality with the help of the SMI and that is the last time they won a pair of elections and later they only lost,' he said.
Manjani also touched on Sali Berisha's accusations that the country has turned into a narco-state.
'According to the DP, this is a drug state and everyone here is addicted, what can you say? These are the words that come from their vocabulary. Even if Berisha leaves and another comes, they have done their job. The competition needs to be renewed in the ranks of the opposition, not only of the DP but of several parties. Berisha is old, this job requires energy and he is no longer enough to lead the opposition, but more competition is needed. Berisha has his time left in the drug state, he is putting a stamp on us in Europe,' he said.
He also commented on the 3-month extension of the investigations into Ilir Meta by SPAK. He said that the investigations should not have been postponed, as long as Meta has been taken as a defendant.
'For Meta, I don't understand the postponement of investigations if the person has been charged, why are the investigations postponed? If the person has been charged, he should be brought to trial. I don't know why it had to be postponed if the investigations are over,' he said.
