"Trump stopped Serbia from invading Kosovo"/ Former senior US official: The President will unite Albanians

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has declared that he has stopped Serbia from starting a war to invade Kosovo. In an interview for “Ditarin i Kosova” with journalist Xhevahir Qardaku, former US ambassador and senior diplomat Jonathan Moore, a good expert on the region, commented on Trump’s statements, emphasizing that Washington has always aimed to strengthen stability and unite Albanians through clear policies in the region.

"This problem was presented to President Trump in his first term, when he hosted the Prime Minister of Kosovo and President Vučić in the Oval Office. He was asked to confirm peace and guarantee stability in the Balkans, which has been a strategic interest of the United States for decades," Moore said.

According to him, President Trump's latest message should be seen in the current geopolitical context:
"If we look at the situation today, with the crisis in Ukraine, the conflicts in Gaza, the Israel-Iran tensions and other wars that are not in the public eye, the Balkans is an example that works well. Albania will host the NATO Summit in 2027, and this shows that the US is committed to maintaining stability," Moore emphasized.

He interprets Trump's statement as a reminder of America's crucial role in the region and its commitment to maintaining peace and cooperation between Albanian countries.
