The meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party the day before was accompanied by fierce debates and clashes between former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji and Flamur Noka. Salianji asked the latter to his face to resign with the argument that he had destroyed the Democratic Party, accusing him of being one of those responsible for the situation created with the selection of the People's Advocate, where Endri Shabani received the signatures of the DP, but was elected only with the votes of the SP.
The clash between them did not remain only in this prism, but the parties have also accused each other of links to Suel Çela, whom SPAK considers the head of a criminal organization based in Elbasan, the city where his group operates. Avoiding the call for resignation, Flamur Noka accused Salianji at the leadership meeting of links to Suel Çela, a character who has often been accused of links to the Socialist Party.
To justify the low turnout in the protests, but also in the speeches that Berisha has launched with the Democrats, Flamur Noka accused the closed-door meeting that, on the orders of Ervin Salianji, people were being persuaded by Suel Çela not to join the speech held by Berisha 2 days ago, but to go to the one that was expected to be held by Salianji.
"In Elbasan, people say that Suel Çela is working to prevent people from speaking at the podium, and this is your influence," Noka-Ervin told Salianji inside the Presidency meeting, while he repeated the same accusations outside the DP headquarters.
"We have had complaints from Elbasan that Suel Çela has been engaged in calling, that is, threatening and blackmailing Democrats so that they would not participate in Sali Berisha's speech yesterday, but would participate in another speech, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I don't know the exact date," said Noka.
Former MP Salianji categorically denied these accusations outside the media.
"I have not met any criminal person, I don't know where these come from, they are idle chatter. I regret that the meeting shifts the focus from the protest", said Salianji, adding that every accusation will be answered with facts and evidence.
The situation became tense after the harsh accusations that Salianji issued towards Noka, telling him to his face that he is the person who should be careful regarding his connections with Suel Çela. In the first confrontation with his democratic colleagues after starting the 'Speech', Salianji did not spare Noka, reminding him of an accusation that was previously articulated by Gazment Bardhi, that Suel Çela is in the service of him and Sali Berisha.
Without mentioning Bardhi by name, Salianji reminded Noka of his statements in 2021, when he said that Suel Çela was engaged in collecting signatures for the meeting of the National Assembly of the DP, a time when Berisha was fighting to take the party from Lulzim Basha. Face to face, Salianji told Noka that under Suel Çela's threat he was collecting signatures from the sections.
"I haven't scheduled the meeting yet, but since I've been thinking until now that I don't want division and I don't want to talk, I'm telling you that you have to be careful, because you were accused 4 years ago of collecting signatures of sections under the threat of Suel. Then, who knows, you know that I'll bring you facts if you continue with this idiocy," Salianji-Noka told the meeting.
The meeting at the DP Presidency took place a day after the Constitutional Court's decision that reinstated Belinda Balluku and Sali Berisha announced the start of national protests. But the main attention in the 4-hour closed-door meeting was taken by Ervin Salianji's new movement within the DP and the request that the latter directed to Noka to resign. The only member who sided with Salianja, Bislim Ahmetaj, pointed the finger at the DP secretary general, who ironically said that the party does not have time to meet people, as they are busy driving Flamur Noka around in a 100 thousand euro car.
