Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted again after the statements made two days ago at the Socialists' meeting in Unit no. 5 regarding the possibility of running for the Municipality of Tirana, for which he offered himself as a candidate.
Shortly before the start of the plenary session, Braçe stressed that the process for selecting the candidate should be the same as that followed in every municipality in the country, respecting the rules and principles set by the Socialist Party. He underlined that the competition should be open and transparent, avoiding any hasty decision-making or decision-making imposed by the circumstances of the moment.
"The process should be carried out as foreseen by the statute of the Socialist Party. The Socialist Party should carry out a process like in every municipality in Albania," said Braçe, while further referring to previous developments and the proposal of Ogerta Manastirliu by Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the management of the "house" of the capital, Braçe said that her name was proposed under emergency conditions. He insisted that the statute of the Socialist Party clearly foresees the way in which the process should be carried out and that this model should be respected without exception.
Among other things, during his speech, the socialist deputy reiterated his experience and commitment over the years, adding that the results he has achieved constitute a strong foundation for any task that may be entrusted to him in the future.
"My results at any time and in any territory are valid for the work," said Braçe, among other things.
Newsbomb reported a day ago that at the meeting of the Assembly of the Socialist Party, unit no. 5, held on Saturday, the former deputy prime minister and socialist MP expressed his ambition to run for the 2027 local elections.
"As you understood, this situation cannot be like this anymore. The problems that the socialists have cannot be solved and a different organization is needed. Therefore, in this situation, I will come out to seek the support of the socialists, not only in unit 5, but in all of Tirana, and if I am not the official candidate of the Socialist Party, I will announce my candidacy as an independent candidate for mayor of Tirana ," Braçe is reported to have said a day ago.
