The government has approved the decision for the National Scheme 2026, where it has increased funding for livestock breeding and eased conditions.

The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to reduce the number of cows a farmer must have to receive state funding from 10 to 5 cows, while funding increases from 10,000 lek to 12,000 lek.

The number of sheep and goats you must have is also reduced, from 100 heads to 50 heads of cattle, and funding is increased from 1,200 lek in the 2025 scheme to 1,500 lek with the new scheme.

For beekeeping, you must have a minimum of 25 hives, down from 50 previously, to benefit from financing of 2 thousand lek per hive, up from 1 thousand lek previously.

In the 2026 National Scheme, funding for sows is increased for the first time to 7 thousand lek per head, for those with a herd of no less than 5 heads.

Meanwhile, free oil for farmers is being removed from the national scheme, which came into effect in January 2021.

In the new scheme, tax-free oil is no longer considered financial support, and this change is made precisely at a time when the country is facing high oil prices due to the war in the Middle East.
