The candidate of the closed list risks his mandate/ Lapaj: I will meet him

The leader of "Albania Becomes", Adriatik Lapaj , the most voted candidate from the open lists of the "Albania Becomes Initiative" coalition in the May 11 elections, in the Tirana district, states that his mandate is not at risk and he is in good faith of the agreement they made in the coalition.

This was his reaction today to 'Studio Live' on Report TV , to moderator Arbër Hitaj, after the news that one of the candidates on the closed list, Zeqir Kordhoni, has requested that his resignation signature be verified at the CEC, as he did not remember submitting it.

Lapaj said that the closed list was drafted with family members of the political coalition representatives, with the aim of getting them to resign, and this political path was chosen as a sign of protest to oppose the Electoral Code that the SP-PD approved for closed lists.

Lapaj explained that Kordhoni is a candidate from Endri Shabani's " Nisma Thurje ", with whom there is no rift and this political formation continues to be united.

"We entered this battle for principles and brought a different model. We followed this path to oppose the famous Electoral Code through resignations and ran on open lists. Mr. Kordhoni is part of the lists, family members were included on the closed list. I will meet him without any problem, face to face, they are our family members, to my knowledge they have resigned. I had no information at all about Kordhoni, he is a candidate of the Nisma Thurrje Initiative. Don't worry, I am on the ground. We are stronger and more determined than before. Any approach by the government to hinder us does not work," he said.

Lapaj stated that this candidacy path was chosen in good faith, while Kordhoni is far down the list to become an MP. He stated with certainty that he is not risking his mandate and that these were maneuvers by the government, as they are scared.

"My mandate is not at risk. Mr. Kordhoni is far down the list, it does not exist. He is part of Shabani's list. I am in good faith in this case, if someone treats him differently, I will receive the answer as a servant of the state. We have no problems with Mr. Shabani. They cannot turn me back, neither with blackmail, nor with threats and interference. In our coalition, everything is going well, there are no flaws," Lapaj emphasized for Report TV.

For Lapaj to enter the Assembly, the 12 candidates on the closed list must reject the mandate. Report TV exclusively learned that one of the names, who turns out to be a construction worker, Zeqir Kordhoni, is resisting and has been in communication with the CEC.

The winner of the NSHB mandate in Tirana is currently Ana Dajko, while the most voted candidate from the open list is Adriatik Lapaj. For him to enter parliament, Ana Dajko and the 11 others from the closed list must refuse the mandate, so that the seat of the Assembly can be taken by the leader of the coalition. However, Kordhoni is no longer convinced about leaving the mandate and has addressed the CEC with a handwritten letter, where he describes himself as a deputy and requests a copy of his resignation.
