Alesia Balliu has made strong accusations against Sali Berisha regarding the May 23 process for the election of the leader of the Democratic Party.
Invited to the show "Last Hour" on ABC News, Balliu stated that she has sent e-mails to Western chancelleries and the embassies of the US and Great Britain to denounce, according to her, the "farce" of May 23 with which Berisha is usurping the Democratic Party.
She stated that there is no competition and Berisha has violated the statute of the Democratic Party. According to Balliu, if there had been a regular process, she and Ervin Salianji would have defeated Berisha in the race for the presidency of the DP.
She further emphasized that she has initiated contacts with internationals and has received reactions and meetings on the issue she raised. Balliu added that together with Salianji they are waging a battle for democracy and democratic principles within the DP.
"I have sent my e-mail to all Western chancelleries, but also to embassies such as the US and Great Britain. Seeing all the events, I was forced to take steps to denounce the farce with which Berisha is usurping the DP. In a race, Salianji and I could have won. The coward Berisha knew this.
