While the protest against the project in Zvërnec has been ongoing for days in Tirana and has also spread to the diaspora, a mobilizing message is circulating in democrat WhatsApp groups to participate in today's rally.
In the message distributed, the democrats are called to join the protest at 18:00, at a meeting point in front of the Pyramid, near the bus station. "Today is the time to come out all together and demand responsibility every day until we achieve our goal," the message says.
The call comes at a time when the Democratic Party appears to be trying to get closer to the protest, after initially viewing it with suspicion and harshly attacking the civic mobilization.
The mobilization of opposition structures via WhatsApp shows that the protest, launched as a civic reaction to the developments in Zvërnec, is increasingly turning into a political battleground.
Message sent to Democrats:
"Hello friends!
Today, at 6:00 PM, we will join the nationwide protest of all Albanians!
Many of you have long since joined their voices with the voice of Albanian youth. Today is the time for us to all come together and demand responsibility every day until we achieve our goal.
The meeting place will be in front of the Pyramid, near the bus station.
We must all be together and not scattered, because only united will our voices be heard and will…"
