The American Chamber of Commerce raises the alarm: Tourism in danger, due to water shortages, landfill fires and seasonal construction!
The American Chamber of Commerce raises concerns that tourism is being jeopardized by water shortages, landfill fires, waste and construction in the middle of the season. The message from American business representatives is shared in a press release.
"Our members speak of coastal areas where the lack of drinking water, mismanagement of wastewater, or the continuation of construction even during the tourist season continue to be a concern, thus affecting the functioning of accommodation structures, but also the quality of life of citizens and tourists in these communities," the announcement states.
These shortcomings could remove our country from the list of tourist destinations.
"The lack of trained staff has put many tourism businesses in difficulty, while also jeopardizing Albania's competitiveness as a tourist destination compared to other countries in the region," says the American Chamber.
American businesses are asking the government, local authorities, and domestic institutions to take measures to address these issues that are becoming a problem for this priority sector of the economy.
