Political impasse over the issue of the Kosovo president / LDK does not accept

The political situation in Kosovo remains tense, while efforts to elect a president have not yet produced an agreement between the main parties.

After the meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, both sides expressed themselves in different tones.

Kurti has appeared optimistic about reaching an agreement, stating that "there is a will to avoid elections and the agreement can happen."

On the other hand, Abdixhiku has reiterated his position that "one party cannot have the three main positions", implying that without an agreement the country could go to elections.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has set conditions for a meeting with Kurti, demanding formalization of the invitation and institutional seriousness.

Kurti also criticized the PDK's approach, saying that the lack of concrete names makes it difficult to reach an agreement on the president. He stressed that without concrete proposals, the process remains blocked.

Media in Kosovo write that there has also been criticism from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK).

Its leader, Ramush Haradinaj, has accused Kurti of lacking priority in this process, stating that "he did not prioritize the election of the president, which is why we are ending up with elections."
