The European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has congratulated the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, on his victory in the June 7 elections, while also appreciating the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
In a post on the X platform, Kos described the electoral process as calm, inclusive and orderly, emphasizing the importance of democratic standards in Kosovo. She underlined that Kosovo's progress on the path to the European Union requires cooperation between political forces and finding compromises to ensure institutional stability.
"For Kosovo to progress on its path towards the EU, political forces must now unite and find compromise to build institutional stability," she said.
The European Commissioner also expressed her readiness to visit Kosovo in the near future, with the aim of intensifying work on European integration and the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. According to her, the EU's commitment remains strong in supporting Kosovo's reforms and economic development within the framework of the European integration process.
